VLC not playing wmv files.

I imagine some of you have had problems with VLC not playing wmv files.  From what I can tell, it has something to do with the later versions of VLC not having something - way above my level of understanding - that allows the app to place wmv files.

I don't much care for Windows player.  Any suggestions on a decent video player?

G'day, mate.  I personally use Daum POTPlayer, myself.  I haven't noticed it failing to play wmv files, but that could be just that I'm not looking at the same files you are.
