That guy might have trouble standing up to my punches let alone someone his own size.

Mostly true. She does however have two submissions and a TKO in her 6 or so fights so far. It's not like she's completely lacking in tools to finish fights. Fact of the matter is that she's a rookie in the sport. Her stand up is decent enough, her ground game is developing, her wrestling is outstanding. In mens MMA a fighter with her skill set would be a promising talent taking fights in smaller leagues while learning the sport. In Womens MMA it's good enough that people are starting to consider her a contender already.

ay, there's the rub.......

A bar-room brawler can get a win by KO against a drunken "can"........and whilst I admit that's a gross exaggeration, the principle applies to Sarah. Her pro TKO win was over a 38 yr old, who's never won a pro-fight. If she'd KO'd Cyborg or stood toe to toe with some kickboxing champ, it would have more credibility. You could argue the same with Ronda's armbar wins. Personally, I think only a fool would do so, but that's just my opinion.

Yes, the level of competition is so low for these girls, that until the UFC can create an elite division @ 135 lbs and fill it with new talent, this is always going to be a moot point. One thing against Sarah is her age. Where Ronda already has the tools to finish opponents, McMann is still very much in the learning-stage with her striking. Her submission game will never approach Rousey's, because she's starting too late. IMHO, the reason you don't see her KO-ing people, is not that she doesn't hit hard enough, but rather a lack of boxing skill ie, timing, awareness, fluidity etc. The strikers who will emerge to challenge the likes of Ronda, must develop a Junior Dos Santos approach.

To look at her you wouldn't think she could deliver such brutal attacks, but hell I would step into the ring with her anytime and tbh I wouldn't even try to fight back, not that I could defeat her by the looks of it anyway  ;D

Ronda Rousey books 1st UFC fight Main Event at UFC 157

"Ronda Rousey has signed a contract to fight in the MAIN EVENT at UFC 157 in February ... the first ever female fight in UFC history ... TMZ has learned.

Sources tell us the 25-year-old Olympic medalist will step in the ring with 28-year-old Liz Carmouche ... a highly-ranked MMA badass who served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Rousey was named UFC champion (female 135 lbs division) when she signed with the organization -- and her belt will be up for grabs.

The fight is set to go down on Feb. 23 in Anaheim, CA.

FYI -- Carmouche has a 7-2 record and an awesome nickname -- The Girl-rilla."
