I like Meeesha as well, although I don't find her rematching Ronda to be all that compelling. Also have little to no interest in all this TUF/television stuff... I just want to see them get in the cage and get it on.

Oh well at least it's Invicta FC 5 next weekend. Cyborg Vs. Coenen.

Nothing really. How do you see Cyborg/Coenen going?

I say Cyborg by TKO round 1......  8)

I wouldn't be surprised, that said as powerful as Cyborg is she's had to go 2 or 3 rounds with plenty of people, and Coenen made it to the third round against her last time. I expect her to win handily but I wouldn't be surprised if it goes a couple of rounds. Cyborg doesn't really have one punch power for the most part, she beats people through accumulated damage more than by just flat knocking them out.

This interview contains strong language.

I didn't bother paying for the Invicta PPV this time after the technical issues of the previous one and the lack of compelling fights. With Julia Budd pulling out of her fight, I was only interested in the main event and with Cyborg being such a heavy favourite, even that wasn't massively compelling.

So it was Cyborg by TKO in 4. By all accounts another dominant display from "the baddest woman on the planet" who had to weigh in naked to make the 145-pound limit and a "brave" effort from Coenen.

I see Gomes or Budd next on her hit-list but after that things are less clear. I think there's a chance we may see Fallon Fox vs Cyborg in the future.

I've seen Invicta FC 6 and I have to say that the least interesting match was the main event...I really hate Cyborg fights. Thay are so meaningless. I don't know if this is because of PED or nature, but she is twice as strong and powerful as all the other females fighting in the mma, so you basically watch a bulldozer going all over the cage! I really see her fighting against males, I'm not talking about fetish and stuff...I'm serious. I'm sure she could hold her own against some 145 punders. Fallon Fox is the only fight that make sense left for her, but I'm not interested at all. I hope Ronda won't fight her, not because I think she would lose for sure (though I'm afraid that @145+ Cyborg is almost impossible to beat for any other female on this planet), but because I can't see the purpose of such a fight....Power versus skill, or what? I just can't see it as an even fight, just like all the other superfights UFC is pumping...weight classes are there for a reason...superfights are just for casual fans and random viewers imo!

On the other hand, I've seen the best Marloes from years. I don't know how did she manage to last until 4th , but I've seen her hit pretty hard...she was in formidable condition and I'm sure when she'll fight against women again she'll be a top contender...reason why I hope rumors are real and she gets back to 135 and join UFC roster.

Besides the main event, there was a whole lot of talent in this Invicta 6. I think you have to love that girl Rose Namajunas. She is incredibly talented and she got robbed with UD (by the way Tecia Torres is tough as well). You also have to acknowledge the phenomenal potential of Claudia Gadelha. Her opponent was an unbeaten japanese girl who looked very good and she just dominated her...PURE TALENT....FUTURE CHAMP. Then there is my favourite one: Miriam Nakamoto....OMG she really looks like the asian heroines in the movies...boy can she hit....boy can she finish the fights! I hope she gets in the UFC asap cause she is 36 already and I'd love to see her against top contenders. I guess she will fight for the belt at 135 in the next Invicta championship bout..

All in all, I think WMMA rocks

I agree with you about Cyborg, lucad. I typically don't have any interest in her fights. As much as I would love to see Ronda kick her ass, I don't think Ronda would stand a chance. Sorry, Stewie  :).

I saw Invicta last night, and most fights were really good. I loved how Claudia Gadelha dominated her fight; looking forward to seeing her face Carla Esparza.

Miriam Nakamoto destroyed Duda Yankowitch with that brutal knee; same thing she did to Jessamyn Duke at Invicta 5.

About Rose Namajunas: I like this girl, she had her chance to win it with that arm lock, in the first round, but all credits to Tecia Torres. In my opinion she very well deserved that win last night.

Leslie Smith was impressive in her fight, as well.

And Jessica Penne, of course. Very easy, dominant win over Nacdali Rivera-Calanoc.

QuoteFallon Fox is the only fight that make sense left for her

It's extremely premature to be thinking of putting Fallon Fox in with Cyborg. She's had three fights against nobody you've ever heard of. The only reason you've even heard of Fallon Fox is because of the controversy.

I haven't seen any of the fights yet because of flaky computer availability bit it sounds like a fun card. The main event went pretty much as I expected from the sounds. I really wish there were some decent actual 145ers for Cyborg to fight but there really isn't. Everybody you can think of that she might fight that's any good can make 135. She's as big as a 145er can be too, so pretty much everyone she fights is undersized by comparison. Makes it awfully hard to make fights for her.

This. Fallon Fox doesn't make any sense for anyone at this stage except fellow low-level fighters.

It's a shame Thug Rose lost, she's an entertaining fighter, and, cynical as this is, she's extremely charismatic and good looking so she's very useful from a marketing standpoint if she can get back to winning ways

I'd be willing to bet Fox Vs. Cyborg would be Invicta's biggest selling PPV to date and ultimately that's what it's all about.

I'm stumped as to why you think Fallon Fox is going to draw worth a damn. For people who haven't followed the gender controversy she's a minor-league nobody with three wins to her name.

Invicta aren't about to promote a fight by saying "See a woman who used to be a man fight Cyborg" either because that would be stupid and they're way too classy an organisation for that. Which means there's absolutely nothing that can be used to promote Fox as a potential challenger to Cyborg. Maybe if she gets another 3 good wins under her belt, but unless I'm remembering wrongly she's already 38 or so and there's not a heck of a lot of chance that she's going to end up reaching the top tier of competition before age catches up.

With all due respect to Fox she's an MMA nobody and the only reason people know her is for something that's more likely to be detrimental than a selling point from a promoter's view, especially when that promoter is wholly invested in turning WMMA into a legitimate business. While I'm loathe to use the term because of the unfair connotations the fight you're proposing is only interesting (and I use the term very loosely) for "Freakshow" reasons and that's contradictory to everything Invicta are trying to achieve.

If you follow MMA and use the internet, you will have had a hard time not hearing about Fallon Fox. Mainstream outlets such as TMZ and The NY Times have done features on her, along with all of the MMA heavy-hitters reporting on her last fight.

Her last fight drew a lot of interest – to testify go on to Youtube and see how many views the highest grossing Fox Vs. Jones video has – over 250,000 in less than two months. Cyborg vs Muxlow by comparison has just under 110,000 views in 3+ months. In fact, there is only 1 invicta fight on YT (coenen/ruyssen) that tops Fox's viewing numbers and it has over a year head-start (with views being cumulative over time).

The current Org. that Fox fights for – CFA – seems to be putting a lot of effort into promoting her. I don't have access to financial reports, but there is clearly an incentive, just as there is/was for the UFC to push marketable fighters of questionable ability and experience, ie Brock Lesnar who is still responsible for some of their biggest PPV numbers.

As for being unknown if she hadn't gone public about being transgender, well, you can twist most fighters' popularity and say it's only due to this or that.

Would Cris Cyborg have got the fights/breaks she received if she wasn't married to Evangelista  Cyborg Santos and training out of ChuteBoxe a few years ago? Ronda Rousey probably wouldn't have been fast-tracked or be as popular as she is if she looked like Ediane Gomes. Gina Carano also had influential connections at the beginning of her career and good looks which helped her a lot.
