Holly is finally going to fight legit opponents and not the scrubs she was beating beforehand.

If people think she's the saviour they'll hoping for they're in for a real surprise. She's unproven. The UFC are desperately looking for someone to challenge Ronda but Holly needs 2-3 fights under her belt, but I get the feeling they're going to push her ahead of the line.

Cat deserves first crack at R3 on the New Year card. I think they should put Holm against Kaufman, to justify her striking reputation. Then Miesha or Liz next, to see if Holly can nullify their grappling and overall "toughness".

Some exciting WMMA fights to look forward to.

Next Wednesday, UFC Fight Night sees the debut of the highly rated and unbeaten Claudia Gadelha. She takes on Finland's Tina Lahdemaki in the promotion's fight 115 pound contest. Jessamyn Duke Vs. Leslie Smith is also on the card.

In August, Sara McMann returns to the cage to take on InvictaFC's bantamweight champion Lauren Murphy.

Not too sure what's going on with TUF (don't really follow that stuff) but you've got Esparza, Torres, Calderwood as the favourites and some added spice from Herrig, Magana and Namajunas. Can Scotland's JoJo hang with the Latinas? JAG should eventually make her way to the UFC's 115 division as well.

In September, there is another must-see fight as Rin Nakai is welcomed to the octagon by Meisha Tate.

Dana to give Holm one non-title fight before giving her a shot against Rousey.

I wonder if Holm could fight Carano, if indeed White does sign her as well. TBH, I'll believe Carano fights again when I see her in the cage. Even if she does sign, there's no guarantee she'll fight.

It's a shame Julie Kedzie retired as she would've been a good opponent for either. I doubt she'd fight Holm as both train out of Jackson-Winkeljohn (Kedzie is Jackson's PA) but a Carano/Kedzie rematch would be cool.

Juicy juicy news guys....UFC women 135 division ROCKS (well at least in tems of HOTNESS...if not in terms of skill...) The big problem with Gina is making weight constantly!

STAY tuned...2015 will be a year of fireworks

Btw everybody is concerned with the gap between Ronda and the others....of course that's a big issue and they're definitely out of her league at the moment. But nobody cares about the potential very interesting match-ups which are building in in her division:

I mean take Cat Zingano, Sara McMann, Holly Holm, Gina Carano, Cyborg, Julianna Pena, Miesha Tate, Rin Nakai, Lauren Murphy, Amanda Nunes and mix them up.....THAT'S FIREWORKS imo! Look at how many competitive fights are there....then if Dana finds a way to sign the "Queen of Mean" Miriam Nakamoto (provided she'll fight again after the injury) this is really gonna be perfect.

Zingano is getting Amanda Nunes at UFC 178.

Whoever fights Holm should be taking her down as often as they can. I don't think there's much chance she'd get past Tate at this point and there's pretty much zero chance she'd get past McMann. If she gets to Rousey any time soon I'd be surprised.

Is Carano really going to make 135? I sort of doubt it, but there's not a heck of a lot of point in signing her if she's not.

R3 has gone on record saying she'd fight Gina in a catchweight match. Since it's a foregone conclusion that Ronda would sub her, this would probably be a freakshow one-off appearance, drawing huge ppv interest and generating a big, fat payday for both women.

Why would anyone pay money for such an obvious mismatch? I wouldn't expect this fight to draw well at all.

EXACTLY  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

And then: what non-obvious mismatch is outthere for Ronda? Plus, could she ever do worse than Alexis Davis??? Definitely not.

I don't think there is a chance it will last more than 1 minute, since Ronda has already said she respects Gina too much to play cat and mouse with her and would go full power from the first second.

Anyway, if you think about it, this time you don't have to blame UFC imo, since this is probably the only chance to guarantee a Gina vs Ronda titlefight. There's a big possibility Gina would lose with most of the girls in the UFC roster @135 and after missing 5 years of her physical prime....so it's pretty much now or never again.

Plus, there's no such a legitimate contender right now for Ronda, so this would be the perfect timing. I mean, I'm not even sure if after the first fight back in the MMA (which will likely be a loss against many UFC girls - not only Ronda) Gina will decide to continue fighting...the weight issue is HUGE!
