Miesha Tate gets majority decision victory over Sara McMann in the UFC 183 fight. "Cupcake" was in serious trouble in the first round, but managed to survive, and then took the other two rounds rather convincingly. A pretty good fight.

I favored cupcake going into this. Sara's Olympic level wrestling was completely nullified by Miesha's scrambling and grappling. If this had gone 5 rounds, she would have subbed McMann, who has poor sub-defence and lacks one-punch KO power.

If Ronda hadn't decked her with that shot to the liver, I fear she she would have grapplefucked her within the first minute.

When you watch Sara McMann fight, she clearly doesn't want it as much as many of the other girls. Frankly, she needs to do us all a favour and just retire. She had Miesha rocked and "badly hurt" (reported broken orbital) but Miesha is by far the more dogged competitor. She soaked up the pressure and reapplied it in rounds 2 & 3. Miesha wasn't going to go down without a brawl and when she started swinging her windmill punches, it spooked Sara into diving for poorly timed takedowns. Close fight and that scramble in the third round was pivotal, but Miesha was carrying the fire and was glad to see she won.

Tate Vs. Correia would be a fun fight.

QuoteMiesha Tate: I really want to fight Bethe Correia. She's doing really well and she's not afraid to engage in a fight. She's undefeated and she has an exciting style of fighting. My last two opponents that I beat just wanted to grab a hold of me and take me to the ground. They did not want to throw punches with me at all. It's not as fun for me. I like people that want to stand up and fight. I feel like Correia is well rounded and we could win fight of the night. It's hard to win fight of the night when one of the two people in the ring just want to hold on to you or lay on you. I want to fight someone that isn't afraid to stand up with me. Let's give the fans what they want to see and throw punches until someone goes down.

I had it 29-28 McMann.

I was surprised Tate was able to control McMann like that in the 3rd round. Tate hasn't been able to get a win against a top fighter until now, so this is a good win for her.

BJ Penn has obviously been grappling with people before and is definately tired before it starts....but in my opinion he is trying pretty hard here. The little giggle Rousey does after flipping/turning him to the ground is kinda funny!I  know who BJ Penn is, and I am under no illusion that Ronda Rousey could beat him in a grappling match but this is very impressive. Poor Ronda Rousey opponents.
