Got called out by a new member for continuing to post in both forums

Said I was denigrating this forum by doing that

Curious what everyone else thinks if it is denigrating

Didnt know that the forumes were mutually exclusive of each other

Let me know your thoughts so I can make some decisions

I'm a member of numerous forums all over the world, so I'm the last person to have issues.

But since I know you are referring to a particular forum, what I would say is, I have received an email from the owner of that forum, wishing this forum and its members all the best for the future. I replied by saying:

"No hard feelings on my part. I very much enjoyed contributing to your forum and it was only because a small minority of members had a conflicting opinion over where to draw the line over what is considered acceptable material, that I felt obliged to leave.

I have no intention of making online derogatory comments about yourself, or MvsF. In fact I actively discourage that kind of thing and wish for a positive move forward for all parties concerned." 

So no worries from me......

I'm still a member of the other forum, although I almost never post there anymore.
I have nothing against the people there and, indeed, never criticized them publicly.
Even though I was somewhat concerned about underage stuff there, the main reason I am now mostly active here is my preference for FvF over FvM. I was sometimes criticized for posting FvF stuff on a FvM forum. Even though the leaders of the other forum often made clear that FvF was welcome, criticism occasionally crept up again. I simply thought that, if I am going to share my stuff somewhere, might as well be in a place where it is welcome from the onset.
That having been said, I subscribe to other forums and see no reason why other people shouldn't do the same. I would ask however that, if you can, please restrain from sharing in other places the stuff I share with you here. It is not my objective to spread it across the web, just to provide for likeminded friends in this forum.

speaking as a moderator, we have neither an interest in, or even the capacity to, control what our members do outside of this forum. as long as people abide by the rules while they are here, that's the main thing. if members over here try to make a fuss out of it or start going off on other members over it, i suspect they will make very few friends. if people wish to be members of both that is entirely their prerogative as long as they aren't making trouble, which desertgoodguy most certainly is not.

in a more personal capacity, i do not think animosity towards the old forum by us, or animosity from them directed at us, helps either site in the slightest. i know the administrator of MvsF is also of this opinion and on his return did a fine job of heading off the unfortunate rumblings of some members over there. regardless of what we don't agree on, he is correct in stopping any bitching and bickering developing and i feel the same way.

also, moving this to the correct subforum!

Looks like you guys have said all there is to say about this subject, but one question I've had that remains unanswered.  How is it that alot of you guys still have access to the other forum.  I was banned for no reason I could find other than being a present member of this forum.  I wasn't even a long term member over there...was still a newbie, but somehow I got caught up in the battle.
I guess I'm surprised that so many of you still have the option of logging in over there.

i for one don't (i requested my account be banned). if you want to be unbanned i would suggest approaching zweig, who, unlike figure4 and edwardpaul, has as far as i can tell, no interest in banning people for their opinions.

Its intersting, but no one frpm the other forum ever said anything to me about being banned

I did indicate in one post that I did not like all the kiddie porn etc, and thinking about leaving, but serveral members asked me not to go becasue they enjoyed my posts so much
